SYNOPSIS :
A documentary that it intends to trace a parallel between two Brazilian periods, at the time of Pero Vaz and at current times, separated by more than five hundred years, with its similarities and contrasts.
The focus is the narration of the letter, read by Ruy Guerra, compared to diverse contemporary images, at times emphasizing what was described, at times going in a diametrically opposing direction, showing that between similarities and differences Brazil went on in these years. The song by Chico Buarque and Ruy Guerra, Fado Tropical, is presented in the opening and the closing of the documentary in the interpretation of the authors and in a version by Arnaldo Antunes especially recorded for the film.
